@petemcewan: Sure, in the Middle Ages the Scots were a quite warlike remedy for any English annoyance, we French had therefore a constant alliance with them; but once Oliver Cromwell had subdued Scotland the Scots never reclaim their freedom and there last serious attempt was the Battle of Culloden which was a devastating defeat; and that same Oliver Cromwell did also subdue Ireland but the Irish continued their revolts against the English, though the USA had a hand in it 1920.

One cannot deny that the Irish are much more restive than the Scots or Welsh, who accepted the English rule after some centuries, but the Irish started uprising after uprising for 700 years, though of course Catholicism did help them a lot as it did divide the conquerors from the conquered and became somewhat a substitute for the missing political entity of the Irish; by the way: The fighting scenes look quite good; can someone tell me from which movie they are taken?

@Irishandpround1 you know it just occured to me that mexicans and the scots and the irish have a few things in common what i mean is the irish were invaded by a foreign force and made into slaves by the vikings and lot worse. the aztecs in mexico were also nearly wiped out by the spanish from what i heard they also made them into slaves.
