This episode of Pulse of the Port focuses on one of the largest infrastructure projects in California's history: The Alameda Corridor! This rail line stretches from the Port of Long Beach to Los Angeles and has improved goods transfer efficiency as well as helped reduce traffic (and harmful diesel emissions) along the 710 freeway!

  • Good collaboration between government, ports, towns, and the RRs. Brilliant idea to reconfigure freight trains' movement through cities using a dedicated system like this. The savings in time, gas burnt, pollution, and possibly lives are worth this effort. Hooray to the SoCal authorities.

  • this video is a good source of information for my students, they easily understood the need of intermodal system in relation to port development. hope there are other available videos posted by other port authorities that can serve as a learining tool for port planning and development. kudos to POLB
