Hey i cant tell if my backlight or inverter board is broken on my hp dv1000.When i turn my computer on, its already dark, like there's no flickering (on off), even it i try opening and closing the lid. So would this mean a faulty llcd, backlight or inverterboard?

Yah know what?....I hate that thumping music so much that I am gonna copy it and use it SUPER AMPLIFIED to get back at the noisy freakin' RIFF-RAFF next door, if they ever BASS BOOMINGWELL AUDIO ASSAULT me agin!

Thanks for this video. It worked for me on a Presario V2000. Make sure not to put the board in flipped or the cover won't fit on! Besides going dark sometimes, the screen was getting some "black noise" on it.  Now it looks almost like new.

@KilledCZ Sounds like the data cable that feeds the LCD is loose or damaged. It's usually plugged in under the keyboard. Depends on the model how you would get the keyboard out to check it.

I've had a few dead laptops given to me and I've used parts off them to fix other laptops. I used the invertor out of one to fix a friend's laptop.

Well I dont have black screen, but half of screen got some kind of "distortion" :\ is there chance that is wrong that part ?

can anyone help me i got a hp dv6000 and the prob is i think backlight like it will turn on i can barley see hp logo n everthing else is dark to the point i need to hook up a monitor for it to run now do i need new inverter or screen? please help anyone??
