@coolcon2000 When you unwrap something like a head you will need to make your own seams and not use the default seams. Select faces in the stack, turn off the show seams radio button and then use point to point seems. You will then need to use the pelt tool. The point to point seams are the most important step, and there is not enough room here to explain it all. Number one thing is to practice and don't give up!
@Bachu1 People want to know how to Unwrap the head, not how to add the unwrap modifier. Is it so hard to understand that question? You think that head unwrapped automatically? He obviously done his unwrapping before he made this video.
Dammit, my head whenever I unwrap it, never looks like that. Its always stretched to a box or something. I do everything I know and still can't make it look like that.
I have to say that I'm having the same problem as release2. Bachu1 clearly hasn't attempted this technique following the tutorial exactly, else he'd have the same problem.
By following this tutorial exactly, you don't end up with a recognisable unwrapped mesh. There must be something more to it. Either that, or the modelling techniques I'm using make it impossible to unwrap a recognisable mesh.

why do you pick 800 by 800, is there any specific reason?

just simply rotate your unwrap uvw cylinder till it lines up correctly using the "edit uvw" panel as a reference.

I can't see how some of you think it's hard to understand. I think it's clear what he is doing and how... How to unwrap.
#1 Select Head
#2 Go to Modifiers
#3 Hit "U" on the keyboard or just scroll down and select "Unwrap UVW"
#4 In the Unwrap UVW "Parameters" rollout hit the "Edit" button.

Which program did you use and how?

I don´t know what do you mean, the texture isn´t downloadable, he made it in Photoshop or another program using the UVW Map rendered before.
