Yes, the original, more seasoned, actors were only hired for the pilot. Deals couldn't be made to bring them back for subsequent episodes so they were replaced with newer, less experienced actors who would agree to the contract. The pilot episodes had to be reshot with the new actors so the storyline could continue seamlessly with the same actors.
