  • You were one of the lucky ones if you got to see, hear, or work with Scobey or Clancy. Alas, I came into them many years after they had passed on.

  • I'm a huge Scobey fan! My Grandfather was Jack Buck. My Father and I are still playing dixieland today. My Dad still plays the horn that Scobey gave him!

    Take care, Jammin Joe Buck

  • Glad to hear from you Jammin Joe Buck. I'm only 46 so I caught on later than usual to Scobey, Buck, and Hayes but better late than never.

  • I had the thrill of playing opposite Bob Scobey and Clancy Hayes at the Blue Note in Chicago in 1955 with the Salty Dogs Jazz Band which at that time was made up of Purdue students. I also heard him many time at Bourbon Street his Chicago club. - Jack Lord

  • In 1954/55 'Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?' was our big, I mean BIG, vacation hit.

That was when the world was young.

  • I have this film "Living Venus" on video. It's great! I love the title song. It's so beautiful. :)

  • Does someone have a url for me where I can download Scobey? Does anyone have his Dr. Jazz maybe?
