Actually from some extreme searching of his list on different sites I came across all of these on the same one. I wish I could remember which one, I just loved the fact that they had him commenting on the albums he loved.

@EdiblePlanets You're intellectualizing things a bit. People are drawn to them, look around. Maybe only because Zappa, Lester Bangs and Cobain named dropped them but so what. Comes a time with art where it moves ya and excites ya or it dont. Their execution may be "bad" but I believe the songwriting is special. Ive read where they didnt have much access to records and media and lived in a strict household. I said real art lives outside of conscious posteuring, and trends, etc. You may be right..

@flowerdoodle People are drawn to the Shaggs? I think some people hear something startling and different and assume it is somehow profound. Sometimes it is just so different because it is so bad. The unfortunate thing is that I think they WERE trying to copy popular music, but did it so ineptly that it sounded "original". Your comment that "real art" is outside of consciousness is too trippy for me. If you are not conscious of something - on some level - subjectively it does not exist.
