Nobody is saying Amy copied from WT or Nightwish.

But you are absolutely wrong -Evanescence absolutely did NOT bring any attention to either band. Nightwish already had legions and legions of fans on a worldwide scale since before Amy Lee was even signed. I'm talking '98-99 at most (around when Oceanborn came out). Ev was founded in '95 if I'm not mistaken but they didn't release a record until 2003, ex-including their demo in 2000 .

As far as commercial bands go, Evanescence is definitely one of the best, but it just doesn't touch Nightwish, Epica, Delain, WT, and so on.

The fact that Evanescence can hardly even be considered a band anymore doesn't help either. Amy Lee needs to get off her high horse and stop firing everybody.

Evanescence formed 1995 before within temptation, nightwish and delain. They are the first band of these three to have world wide success, they probably did draw more attention the genre and helped the genre get more fans. Neither WT or Delain have been world wide mainstream, WT have done well with their new album and still might get more attention as well as delain with their new album this year. And Amy did fire one band member. Either way they are all amazing artists.

I love Evanescence BUT WHY THE FXCK ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THEM ON HERE?

This is Delain. Not Evanescence.

So what if they sound a bit similar? Most bands sound similar. Hence the musical genre. I mean, most Symphonic Metal bands sound similar. Yes, there are subtle differences but basically, it's sung in the same style, is it not?

Evanescence is a completely different genre. Rock/ metal. And it's great music.

I really can't see the point of all these arguments.

So shut up and enjoy the music.(:

amy didnt fire any one they left on their own accord!! and all those bands u mentioned plus after forever are all just as amazing even tho my fave r epica and after forever.Evanescence is still a really gud band and i cnt w8 till she comes bk!
