Some of the sounds are produced from oscillators and filters. This is rudimentary synthesizer architecture.
Kraftwerk get too much credit as pioneers.

no one can reproduce the exact sounds Delia Derbyshire created, this is a wonderful piece of music created by a genius!.

I always get exited when I hear this song, all except for Matt Smiths, they kinda ruined that one.

Yes it was, Doctor Who composed by Ron Grainer was recorded and 1st shown on TV in 1963.

who killed sgt pepper?

It was recorded in the early 60s, too. On reel to reel machines and not syths.

I don't think they were sued or at least I never heard of the composer suing Pink Floyd. But, then again before sampling it was more common to pay musical tribute to other artists and get away with it then today when people flat out sample other artist's ideas and pass them off as their own.

Impossible! A Few have Tried, but failed. The Equipment they used back then was prototype & put together from odd sods from the War. If you took VST pluggins of the exact same equipment & tried it that way, it woud still sound nothing like it. Because delia had a Secret sound! The 1st Part of the Haunt (Wooo eee ooo) is 3 cuts. And the Test Tone Transiever she used, was modified using this secret sound; putting it through filters/Amps etc in a Certain Order. That Order died with her. 4 the best.

Here are you geniuses of Dr Who -take away these guys who composed one of the best tv themes ever & the show just wouldn't have the pull.

@DJOlaf13 Yes it was first released on a Decca 7" single then. The theme was composed by Ron Grainer, realised by Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and published by Erle Music/Chappell and the sheet music of that tune can be bought from Chappell Bond Street London.
