@concorddeaf Could you imagine 85% of the market wanting to put their comments on Sorenson's promotions? Think about it.
-
@robinhorwitz No need for an apology. Never your fault for how someone else feels ;) I understand your possition and notice that Sorenson actually will not even allow any comments on their promotions re: FCC changes. Thanks

@deafladydi We've filed our comments with FCC and provided support for their tiered system with break even cost + 11.25% ROI and have been very transparent with our costs for justification purposes.
I agree with the logic of thriving rather than surviving and I believe that's shown in the break even cost + 11.25% ROI in our comments.

robinhorwitz said: "I believe to change the tiers - FCC may have to send out a NPRM first ..." it is best to send the proposal back to the powers that be and revisit the rate methodology. We should not be accepting anything less than what we have now. We can force FCC to extend the current contract for another year and do what's right for the VRS consumers. Believe me...you will need this if you want your business to thrive instead of just surviving.

Nice vlog.

@concorddeaf We apologize if you feel this way. We believe in healthy discussion regarding this issue without any attacks or things like that.

What I don't like about Sorenson is that they are trying to use their CEO Pat Nola as an ASL model/bridge communication. Wow! Fail! Please, watch Sorenson promotions featuring Pat Nola. Convo has the idea with promotions in REAL ASL by REAL Deaf leaders. Nice job.

It all makes since from a capitalistic point of view? No. This sounds like socialism which does not motivate anyone to improve services. Why should they, I mean? After all, you will be punished for attracting more users and providing better and faster services. I believe the only reason you have deleted any comments that are not supportive of your point of view is because you want to use propaganda to win over your audience. They don't even get to hear other points of view. Remove This 2?

@deafladydi Right now, FCC is seeking feedback on the rates using the previous rules set by the commission such as 11.25% ROI, etc.
I believe to change the tiers - FCC may have to send out a NPRM first though.
Convo supports the 3 tiered rate system and believe with some minor tweaks, it will be even better.
I love this vlog. You did a superb job. Wow! I am so dumb in math and I think I understood your message, smile. I am curious...does Convo relay have corporate attorney and if so, they can help to convince FCC that convorelay have grown and require more funding support to cover expenses for this business.

@MeDeafYes, glad the video helped! I'm no good at math too so you're not the only one. :-)
Convo has a corporate attorney but we feel that Ed Bosson, who is the father of VRS and has had years of regulatory experience is the best person to work with FCC. Basically we put together this comments with all the information with help of Ed.
At the same time, we rely on supporters like you to suggest that FCC adopt our recommendations in our comments.

@MeDeafYes, I forgot to mention that Ed is our VP of Regulatory Affairs.

T H A N K Y O U !!! you are a fantastic and brilliant TEACHER, COMMUNICATOR, and VIDEOGRAPHER with integrity. This is an important tool to help us consumers understand what the issue is all about. Was your "petition" vlog/site about this too?
ASLElla 1 year ago
@ASLElla, Thanks for the kind words!
Yes, our petition was about the same thing. Actually, tiered rates is one thing and there are several more issues we commented on. They can be found at convorelay(dot)com/comments.
