Urban Poverty Summit- causes and solutions?

Rich suburban experts bloviate, and pontificate, their way through the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen's poverty summit. One of the many (sinister) ideas suggested by a panel guest was for wealthy townships to send money to the city of Trenton to discourage blacks and latinos from migrating to the suburbs.
There were some panel guests and audience members who boldly stated ,'We don't have a problem with them sending their children to our suburban schools, we just don't want THOSE PEOPLE living in our neighborhoods." African Americans and Latinos were referred to as these people or those people so many times that I got tired of counting! (Even the Clergyman used such language.)




Their economic theories were enough to make Ebenezer Scrooge blush. A panel guest blurted out,"The minimum wage is too high, if the government would push the wage back to what it was 20 years ago ($3.35 per hour) then someone might take a chance and hire these people.

A panel guest implied that allot of these people are just lazy and immoral. (at which point an audience member stormed out proclaiming, "Is this a poverty summit or a Klan rally.




A former T.A.S.K. board member (an African American Female) stated before leaving, "Out of the thousands of capable black people in this city, and you mean to tell me that you couldn't find one to be a panel guest?

With all of the BS that went on at the summit we could start a fertilizer company, and with all of the hot air coming out of the mouths of the pseudo intellectuals we could heat the whole eastern seaboard for the next 20 years! Now how's that for a solution to poverty! (smile)
