I am fortunate to say i was in highschool when jim was introduced to me, his music i mean, by a teacher. i bought and listened, learned to play guitar, as i copied an replayed jim croce to myself and friends, he will always be in my top five singer, songwriters of all time.... alex e.

I actually don't like Bad Bad Leroy Brown at all. It's not rubbish. But there's not the same feeling in it.
I fell in love with his songs and story telling a few years ago. I didn't live back when he did, so luckitly I stumbled on to him as he were "related" to Cat Stevens here on youtube.
I even started taking guitar lessons some years just because of him and am going to ask my teacher to help me practice his fingerstyle.
Jim Croce is amazing.

With the exceptions of "Time in a Bottle" and "I Got a Name", Jim mostly seems to be remembered most for his story songs like "Bad Bad Leroy Brown"...although I appreciate his skill, insight, and detail with regards to those songs, his heartfelt ballads will always among my favorites...they were straightforward, honest, and eloquent.

Jim Croce is one of a kind. It's awful hard to explain how good he was. If you listen to Jim Croce, you truly have a good taste in music by all standards. It is this type of music that makes you realize there is more to life than the normal bullshit we put up with day to day. Life ain't bad when Jim is the soundtrack.
