  • May this video always be available on YouTube. It's a fantastic way for survivors of trauma (sexual, violence, etc.) to learn how to take steps toward healing.

  • Judith Herman is Brilliant! I am so grateful for her research and books.

  • But of course, anybody who underwent an abuse goes to a post-traumatic stress. If not corrected, it could harm the individual and others as well. It must be assessed and guided accordingly.

  • helps women AND men overcome violent or traumatic events.

  • Dr. Judith Lewis Herman is my hero. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • Trauma and Recovery changed my life as a human being. Thank you so much.

  • Yes, Dr. Judith Lewis Herman *is* brilliant and I, too, an grateful for BEYOND TRAUMA. . . which I'm now looking to again to maybe explain to an adult daughter *why* I, Mom, did not stay married to Dad . . .

  • "Trauma and Recovery" really influenced me, as a person.

My favorite line of hers; "Borderline personality is frequently used within the mental health community as little more than a sophisticated insult."

Well, not really, but its excellent.

But she uses "narcissistic personality disorder" a lot, which seems to me little more than a less sophisticated insult!

I'm just reading father/daughter incest, and soon as you start reading it you realize how much it changed the world.
