On Saturday, February 26 at 11:00am, the Freedom Foundation, along with Americans for Prosperity, Tea Party Patriots, and numerous local citizen groups, hosted the WA 4 WI - Justice for Taxpayers rally on the North Steps of the Olympia Capitol Building. Nearly 600 Washington citizens gathered in the sheer cold to support the stand Governor Walker is taking in Wisconsin and ask for an end to union monopolies in our state.
We weren't alone. Over 2000 union supporters gathered, without a permit, across the way near the Temple of Justice. Throughout our rally, they heckled and taunted our attendees, attempting to shut us down through sheer volume. They failed. The taxpayers stood strong against fierce opposition and overwhelming numbers, and The Freedom Foundation applauds their courage and conviction.
This rally was only the beginning of the fight to rein in government unions; there is much to be done in the weeks and months to come. Please join us today by signing the Freedom Foundation's petition to support Gov. Walker and end union monopolies here in our state.

*The Time Has Come For Taxpayers to Stand Up for Justice!*
Tomorrow, Olympia will be ground zero in the battle to restore our founding principles and fiscal accountability!
The forces of Big Labor, Big Government and MoveOn.org will be marching into Olympia because they know that their power is threatened by those of us who believe in economic freedom and limited government.
Those who have enriched themselves on the backs of taxpayers think that they will be able to flex their muscle and keep the gravy train of our tax dollars flowing into their coffers.
But you and I will be there to stop them!
RALLY WILL BEGIN AT 11:00AM SHARP!
Tomorrow's rally will begin at 11 AM sharp! All activists are urged to arrive early as the Unions are holding their Worker Solidarity Rally at Noon just around the corner! We will be at the Capitol Steps on the north side.
Washington shares the same public sector union problem as Wisconsin. We agree with the stand that Gov. Scott Walker is taking and want to see similar reforms take place here in Washington. Our budget is comparable --state pensions and union collective bargaining has got a stranglehold on our taxpayers.
Ending union monopolies is a conversation that we should be having here in our state and there are other proposals that would shift the balance of power back where it belongs --in taxpayers' hands.
This rally is not an attack on the individual public employees who are our friends, neighbors, and fellow taxpayers. It is about the unhealthy relationship between union leaders and state lawmakers that is forcing our state into bankruptcy!
you're going here many people chanting "shame"!
why don't you point the camera the other way?
do you have enough people to show????
NOPE!!!!!!!

@sk8bow Wrong. We had 500 according to Capitol Police. The union thugs numbered 2,000 and did NOT have a permit, by the way. They were paid to attend...and were fed breakfast with coffee.
Authentic protesters don't get paid, which means WE outnumbered the union thugs 500 to 0. Our incentive is genuine, it's about holding corrupt politicians accountable to fix this exponential fiscal crisis. Unions don't care about taxpayers, they only care about the status quo that keeps them in power.

Note: Our rally was at 11AM; the union conglomerate rally was at Noon and theirs was staged a block away. However they sent several hundred over earlier to shout down our rally. We didn't react in "kind" to their bully tactics. Fox news covered their rally, not ours...yet I understand the camera crew was bounced around by the union thugs...nothing surprising.
