LewesFireVideos; 7/6/07 Working Apartment Fire

On 7/6/07 at 1712 hrs Station 82 was dispatched to an Apartment Fire in Fairway Village along with dual response from Rehoboth and Indian River. The Duty Officer was first on scene with light smoke showing from 2nd Floor Sides A&D. Chief 82 was next on scene and command was transferred as the Duty Officer took Interior Ops. The fire grew quickly from light smoke to a working involved apartment fire in just minutes. Chief 82 immediately called a 2nd alarm. Engine 82-5 was first arriving engine and made an aggresive interior attack knocking down the bulk of the fire in the first few minutes, and containing the fire to the apartment of origin. Ladder 86 was second unit in and assisted 82-5 with second line to the interior. Additional personel from 86-2 arrived and took the roof from side A. Tanker 82-4 laid in with 5'' hose and took side C&D corner and also supplied Ladder 82 on side D. Units from Milton, and Georgetown were also called to the scene.

what was the cause of this?

and did it just burn the top floor? or both top and bottom cant tell bc the bottom windows are dark?

top floor apartment. at the end of the video i show some footage from the tower showing the c-d corner of the building where the fire broke through the roof.

Didn't see how much fire there was in the helmet cam, but it was obviously bigger in these exterior veiws

we have the face piece mounted regulators which is why we mask up in the truck if we know its work and then hook in to air right before going in.

That fire had some very good headway before the fire department got called to burn throughout an entire apartment plus the attic and the roof.
