Albert Mangelsdorff Trio.

Albert Mangelsdorff described multiphonics, which he developed for trombone:
"You play a note and sing another, usually a higher note. In the interval between overtones are created which become so audible that you end up with real chords-sometimes up to four notes...all that has to do with how far you can control your voce."

Leon Francioli-Bass,
Pierre Favre-Drums.1983.

  • @carmellathegreat327 You are so right! Years ago I saw an oil painting attributed to Albert Mangelsdorf, in the divisionist style. When seen from a short distance it seemed to be an intriguing jumble of attractively coloured shapes, from a greater distance it was a portrait of Louis Armstrong with trumpet.
