  • Hi everyone! It's me. Thank you all for checking out the ToneGrinder tubes. WattGrinder has been slammed since NAMM so please be patient. We are revising the web site now and are working on sound files so you can compare. The site will be back soon. Yes, we are in development with the Power Tubes! Thanks again!

  • so how do they work?

  • hands down one of the BEST NEW IDEAS i have heard in the last 10 years of going to NAMM!!! once you get the Power tubes designed ...that will be insane!!!

  • i bought one today i actually talked to this guy in on the phone, really nice guy wanted to know about my rig and what i run in it, yeah like he said i should just get the one red preamp for my Carvin X100b and see if it opened up the high gain, and he only charged me 89 bucks for the one so i figured its worth a shot i already moded this amp for higher gain, 12ax7's are 1940's tech i want something new and better i hope i bought that today...

  • mullet? still? fuck yeah man.

  • too bad we cant hear them!

  • well the mullet-man, he said they'll last the life of your gear, so if they sound exactly the same as 13 dollar tubes, but last forever, theres a chance it might be worth it.

    Also, tubes for death metal?

    specific types of music etc?

    that could be promising.

Yet I'll wait to see how they fare by letting other people buy them first.

  • depends how often you play,

and what you play, id say you would have to change the preamps more

  • sounds like a scam, id still probably use glass

  • $200 for a Pre-Amp Tube? WTF, does that include a free mullet style? Funny, his voice gave out right when asked how much they are. I think my voice would fluctuate when I had to say I was charging $200 for a Pre-Amp tube as well. Kinda hard to stand proud when you say that.

I don't think I can see paying $800 for a set of 4 Pre-Amp tubes for my amp. They should show a comparison. Show what the $13 tube sounds like and then what the $200 tube sounds like. It better make you're eyes roll.

  • i wonder what it would do in an ampeg svt bass amp?? He should make bass specific pre-amp tubes too!!

  • How about power tubes. They're the ones that get hot and need to be replaces more often. Are do I not know what I'm talking about?
