AMERICAN AND ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS:
Title: "When cannon howls, dog barks"
After many ask for, here US field gun firing, close filmed...Closer, U die!
Gun is in company with a "comrade" essential for Civil War field moves: the limber.
Historical limber, with colored ammunition crate, as on "blue tunics" stripe.
Limber was hitched to a horse team (4 or 6) and cannon was attached to an pulled behind limber.
During battle, limber and horses were left behind line of fire...But when the rig was on move, coachman, who sat on crate, on limber's lid, above black powder, was in very hazardous position...
Kit scale: 1/8. Team length, from cannon muzzle to limber point: 41". Lonely cannon length: 19".
Cast brass barrel, with inner stainless tube.
Barrel length: 9"1/2, bore: 0.498", range: from 550 to 1100 yds according loading...
First fire: 20 grs (war loading)
Second one up to 25 grs...
U better have not to be face to face...
Two "stop on movie" (one by fire) show great subliminal pyrotechnical effects, and an impressive rear up on first fire...
