if they built "over 100,000 tanks" they can't have been that stupid, can they? You should try going out sometimes, it'd do you good.

Many Thanks!

@Antiworld23 So you are siding against Democracy and for Hitler?

These people were useful idiots at best, and subversive traitors at worst. The Spanish Civil War did more to impede the Communist Party in America and the left in general than the US Government apparently.
Word has it the Republican government had it's strings pulled by the Soviet NKVD and they used American volunteers in human waive attacks. Many of the hardcore communists and true believers on the left were killed, to the benefit of the United States.

They build over 100 000 tanks, with 84 000 T-34 alone. Germany in 1941 and well into 1942 had absolutely nothing (apart from a few AT guns and expensive artillery pieces) to counter it. Comparing the war on the eastern front it is more like comparing nearly optimal leadership (Germany) against almost entirely incompetent leadership (USSR). It is pointless stating that Germany could have avoided some of there mistakes early on since human planning is always prone to errors.
-
If one argues that german military planning could have avoided some of the very few mistakes in Barbarossa which maybe could have ensured victory, one could also argue that the soviets could have avoided some of the huge amount of mistakes in their planning as well, than the outcome would most likely been much more unfavourably for Germany. The deciding Factor for the failure in the End was that the USSR always had the upper hand in terms of military production.
The REAL idiots were not to be found on the battlefields of Republican Spain. They were to be found in London, Paris, and Washington. The "democracies" refused to stand up to Hitler and Mussolini, and so found themselves fighting for survival against them only a few years later.
The Spanish Civil War was indeed a Spanish war that broke out for Spanish reasons, but it also had plenty of international importance.
