A protest camp in Takae Village in Northern Okinawa. The camp is blocking access to a construction site for 6 new helipads that the US military is planning on building in the forest. The residents of the small village are worried about the dangers involved in the use of the new helipads and how it may damage the ecosystem of the area. There are already 22 helipad in Yambaru Forest and the US military uses 30% of the area for training.
This was video was taken when activists from Guam traveled to Okinawa in November 2011 as part of the Japanese Peace Conference.
