  • LOL! I love that song but it's the first time I get to watch the video, Yay!!! xD

  • If I'd known sooner that you're a Gainsbourg fan I would have shown it to you ages ago! I've had this video for years and I've been listening to the great Gainsbourg since I was a kid. I didn't find this scopitone, though, until a friend of mine sent me a DVD chock-full of old Scopitone goodies. :)

  • when I think that artists like gainsbourg are extinct nowadays, and we got to listen to that over-commercial american pop that they feed us, it makes me wonder if french culture has lost its authenticity?

  • Brigitte looked even hotter as a brunette

  • Who looks stunning in a superheo outfit? Brigitte Bardot in this video, or Yvonne Craig as "Batgirl" in "Batman"?

  • hmmmm im sure i like this

  • jane birkin sings this song so amazingly on her new tour!!!

  • @yjfhan black trombone?

  • there is a song by him that starts with a trumpet... not sure what that song is called.... i dont even know how to describe it but if someone could guess what that song could be please let me know. the song is more fun than romantic

  • @pietrogutta

While I agree with your point, this song is a story using a comic book metaphor, comic books being one of the most American forms or entertainment ever! If anything this is a celebration of American culture and its inclination towards a bright, pop-art style.

  • ρεντικολο...

  • @pietrogutta what authenticity? french pop music has always been a series of finely veiled rip offs of ango-saxon pop music, this song being one of the few exceptions. the word 'authenticity' especially sounds jarring when u look at another of france's pop sacred cows- johnny halliday. the americans have produced a lot of shit, but at least they don't keep listening to it.
