@c130dave1 The polling data backs up MY facts. Just look at Gallup. Yeah, conservatives have a plurality in the polls, but then look at how Republicans answered the question: mostly conservative. Then look at Democrats: a tie between liberals and moderates. I hate the Republican Party to the core, but I admire the ability of its members to stick to their values. Democrats/liberals support compromise more.

There are more conservative Republicans than liberal Democrats, and liberals can't even can't above 50% with Democrats because they tie with moderates, one point above or below being a plurality most of the time. That is the cancer in the Democratic Party. Because the conservatards have turned "liberal" into a dirty word with their propaganda, people don't like using it- not even the liberals themselves.

@VoiceHunter I don't lean right. I all in right. You can't discount my arguments by merely saying it is because I lean a certain way. The facts are this. When people are asked if they identify themselves as conservative or liberal...the large marjority identify as conservative. But those same people when asked if they identify themselves as republican or democrat will in large majority say democrat. The confusion lies in the parties when you have conservative dems and liberal rino GOP.

We have capitalism, yes, but we also have many social programs that not only help people, but allow markets to work efficiently and help prevent market failures. And no, we don't have total democracy, but we have democracy as part of our principles- both political and economic. You're just saying we're center-right because you lean right. That would be like me saying we're center-left. We are not either.

Yes, we have a representative republic, but we have democracy, too; we are a democratic republic. Sometimes we vote for people, other times we vote for referendums and specific issues. We have what is called "moderation" in this country... something right-leaning people don't seem to understand.
