From the 15th to the 18th century, Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic was one of the most important spiritual centres of central Europe.

The town attracted the great alchemists, magicians and artists of that era.

The art of alchemy was to try to capture the hidden forces of nature and the soul and to transform them into pure gold.

The alchemists used complex symbols in an attempt to penetrate and understand the reality underlying all phenomena.

Cesky Krumlov is covered with these mysterious symbols, many of which have never been deciphered.

They represent a unique expression of both nature and the alchemists view of reality.
