I find it very telling that this video only has 3009 views. It is unpopular to say that anyone affiliated with the goverment did a good job during Katrina . The Men and Women of the USCG know better! You deserve more credit than you get, thank you for being there.

The Coast Guard was the real hero's of Katrina, were in there as soon as possible saving people why the rest of the government sat paralyzed in shock and iditocy

Wow - what a great video.
I've heard a lot of criticism about America's response to Katrina.
However, Hurrican Katrina affected homes with 9 million people and only 1,836 died. Of couse, we're always sad if anyone dies anywhere, but no one would have guessed the fataility rate would be so low.
Of course, so many were saved because of the U.S. Coast Guard and I want to thank you personally for your service.
