Yes, you are correct. SaaS companies are much more careful about their security processes than most companies. But it is still important for companies using SaaS to be careful, and to stringently inquire about the security processes and practices of service providers.

@mishitpatel in fact, data is often more secure on a remote SaaS server than on many organizations servers. i've seen companies with appalling security practices.

Apple's AppStore showed the world one thing: when people get paid an honest amount for their work, everybody gains. Creating software is really hard work. After years of ramping piracy, SaaS emerges as a model where people can get paid for their work, so it's expectable that software delivered on a SaaS model will attract more investment, and will inevitably out pace desktop software. The future is Saas in-browser or trusted computing platforms (like iPhone). You may write that down.

@mishitpatel I really dont agree with your opinion. SaaS concept is great, fast, cheap and the thing right now. Data will be stored in safe server rooms, so there is no need to scare. Or am I wrong?

Concept looks good. but whats bothering me is that how can you store your key business data on someone else's remote system. Its better you buy the Software and keep 'em inside your org.
