  • @lilfarmrboy19950 Ok :D Thanks

  • @cookiefan550 This ship is famous for being the very first nuclear aircraft carrier in the United States Navy. She comes from a long line of ships that have been named Enterprise from all the way back to when the British ruled the high seas. There is a petition to get one of the new Ford class super carriers named Enterprise to carry on the tradition. The Enterprise was commissioned in November of 1961 and is scheduled to be decommissioned around 2013.

  • @jtrisgood ok thanks. :D

  • For you Star Trek buffs: if my memory serves me correctly, Gene Roddenberry was in the Navy during World War II. He served aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during that time, hence the name of the Sci-Fi ship based on his show.
