Soley Uni

The mission of the Soley Uni project is to support the creation of spaces within Haiti that promote educational opportunity, community reintegration, and empower youth to civic engagement. This hope was born from a dialogue between Haitian and American youth. We believe it to be paramount that it continues as a cooperative effort to unleash the synergies of the Caribbeans diverse youth.

We initiate the project with three prototype community centers within the marginalized community of Site Soley (in Port-au-Prince, Haiti). Via key educational and community initiatives these centers will serve as local focal points of interaction for development opportunities and productive reflections. These spaces will also break barriers and open avenues of interaction between Caribbean youth of all backgrounds. By opening new lines of communication we hope to enable the youth to engage in creative exchanges. We believe these concrete connections will be essential for generating effective strategies to combat the manifold problems humanity faces in the Caribbean basin today.
