Here is a video of the Annual Budo Ryu Ninjutsu "KU" Training Event. In this video I really tried to show both the hard and the soft part of Budo. Many times people only do kata and never really look into their own skills and ability to make themselves better, they just try to make the kata better. You have to experience the kata and the training that goes along with it to truly understand the essence of the martial arts. In the event we did a lot of rapid response training, kumite, ground fighting, weapons kumite as well as surprise attacks and multiple attacks. IF YOU DO NOT TRAIN IN A FAST PACE INTENSE ARENA HOW DO YOU TRULY KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO IT? BECAUSE SOMEONE SAID SO? Is that someone going to fight for you when you life is on the line? Do not cheat yourself in the arts, know your weaknesses and get better. Keep challenging yourself to achieve the excellence that you are striving for.

To those at Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo: I'm sure you agree with me that the Tomo tradition has found the right Ninja to carry its legend and legacy. To Anshu: You've shown both the skills of a Ninja, but also a true Budoka's heart. And I bow in respect to you, one on the path to another. *gassho*

You are correct in that so many only do the theory side of B.N. It is a shame so many never actually get to fulfil their potential, as they only ever go through the motions of basic techniques slowly. (Although, practising the technique slowly is never a bad thing.) It's a real shame there are not more Dojos around who train for real as yours tends to do. How about starting one up in the Highlands of Scotland? There's a lot of good rugged terrain over here to practise in ;)
