Contemporary icon painters of the northeast United States are keeping traditions alive that go back 19 centuries yet carry on a mysterious and luminous art form that is vibrant and in constant demand even today. The exhibition of four painters' work, "Windows to the Divine: Icons in the Russian and Coptic Styles" at the C.X. Silver Gallery is open daily through January 4 2009 and thereafter will continue to be promoted by the gallery.
