Contemporary icon painters of the northeast United States are keeping traditions alive that go back 19 centuries yet carry on a mysterious and luminous art form that is vibrant and in constant demand even today. The exhibition of four painters' work, "Windows to the Divine: Icons in the Russian and Coptic Styles" at the C.X. Silver Gallery is open daily through January 4 2009 and thereafter will continue to be promoted by the gallery. Gallery hours are 9 am to 9pm daily by appointment (call Adam Silver, 802-257-7898, ext. 2. The four iconographers are David Palmer, the organizer of this show; George Philipos; Jody Cole; and Peter Pearson.
