@nerdkittie You obviously don't know much about the German language. The German feminine article, "die" has absolutely no correlation with femininity. The gender of most nouns in German is arbitrary. For example, the German word for "skirt" (as in, a skirt a woman would wear) is a masculine noun: der Rock. By the same token, the German word for girl, "Maedchen" takes the neutral (neuter) article, "das." So, the fact that Flocke is a feminine noun doesn't carry any feminine connotation.
