Atascocita Wildlife Habitat, Humble, TX

Waste Management in Humble TX has dedicated over 11 acres to create the Atascocita Wildlife Habitat. Under the leadership of Dixie Meynier, Margaret Chapnick and Gordon Spradley, many projects have been started. Volunteers are critical to completion of the work. Organizations, such as The Boy Scouts of America, The Houston Zoo - Conservation Crew, Legacy Land Trust, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Texas Master Naturalists, The Woods Group, etc. have helped. School groups visit the area to learn about nature.

Waste Management is working toward certification of the site with the Wildlife Habitat Council.
