This is my first unboxing, Have been using the camera quite a bit and it is awesome, It has an automatic function detection. Its a great must have pocket digital camera.

I just bought myself one of these and I noticed a very annoying and very present high-pitch noisy sound in the recorded videos. I was wonrdering if this is also the case with your camera?

I have made a couple of videos prior to your comment and after playing them back I can also hear a high pitched noise. This is something I was not expecting to have happen on a conon.

I find the pictures to be rather good for a camera of this size, but its now hopeless for videoing with sound.

i hope you can help me with this, so i also have the ixus 130 for 2 months now , and it worked perfectly, but i have this little problem while shooting videos, next to the counter (seconds) there's this little orange exclamation mark that appears sometimes for a few seconds and then the video stops shooting. the battery is not empty and i still have like 10 minutes shooting time. its really anoying .. when i wanna shoot a funny moment it stops after 20, 50 seconds =( .. sorry for my bad english

If you want good photo quality, canon IXUS 130 can be a bad choice. I am saying from my own experience.

For people looking better quality pictures and better quality HD video at not too a high price , go for Canon IXUS 300 HS also known as Canon SD 4000IS. And I am speaking from my own experience. Returned the IXUS 130 and quite happy with the IXUS 300HS now. Better low light quality pics and way way better HD video in IXUS 300HS.
