From when he was injured in his second season - 1985-86, and was working his way back.

  • In my opinion the sickest up and under move i've ever seen Jordan do...that being said, it was totally unecessary lol...once he elevated there was totally enough space to complete a basic right-handed layup. Same with the infamous scoop shot against the Lakers in '91. But that's MJ for ya, always showing his out of this world talent, even if something so much easier could've been done to complete the play.

  • @Emil308 for the record according to jordan the one against the Lakers was done to avoid a block, the block never came that's why it looked unnecessary

  • Saying MJ's hand slap on his lay up was unnecessary sounds like someone who never played. He's unique and it was his thing. When you have talent like that there is no lay up blueprint.

  • @retecoomoati I don't think you can make that judgement unless you were making the move, It was instinct so it's easy for someone to watch & say i would of done that or he should of done this. The point is you just don't know.

  • See the guy trailing the play with the kneebrace on? Know who that is? That is Sean Elliott who played for the Arizona Wildcats and in the NBA. There were a couple other NBAers there that day.

  • I was there when this was filmed. It was in 1987 at UNC-Wilmington. MJ had a basketball camp and at night they would play pick-up games. I saw MJ do the most spectacular lay-up I have ever seen during those games and he actually missed the shot. It was insane.

  • @HannaBoyOD I dunno about that, even if MJ said that I think he's just trying to make an excuse to justify that Lakers scoop shot, but it still wasn't necessary, nobody was in the air anywhere near high enough to block him.

  • @Emil308 yeah it wasnt unnecessary in that lakers game cause mj said he was going for the dunk but then he saw the players hands raise thinking he was going to block it so he jsut switched hands so he wouldnt get blocked

  • always would have loved to see jordan play at the likes of ruker park and jsut watch him ebliterate those "BALLERS" with fundamentals.

  • That was pretty!!!!

  • Who cares if it was necessary? It was EPIC!!
