After discovering that we have an ABUNDANCE of horse radish in the garden, we prepared some of the horse radish. If you like creamy horse radish sauce, you can follow our recipe then when you are ready for your creamy sauce, take a couple table spoons of the prepared horse radish to your sour cream or mayo.
You may actually need to add more vinegar to the mixture as you blend it. Do what works for you. Everyone uses different measurements but the basic ingredients are the same with slight variations.
Keep in mind that home made fresh prepared horse radish is much much stronger than store-bought.

  • add it to prepared ranch dressing for a dip for fried mushrooms and bloomin onionsand add to catsup for a cocktail sauce.

  • @lildinks02 Those are some great suggestions! I think I'll try a few!!! -Randy

  • Ive never grown horseradish but i love it. Being in tn-it gets hot here-woudl this be a winter grown item?

  • @lildinks02 Pretty sure you would be able to grow this year round. It is a very resilient plant. Well worth getting, but make sure you plant this in a place you will be able to dig up. Since this plant is a tuber it will grow a large root system and in order to harvest it you will need to get access to it. You will also want to make sure you've got "offspring" to plant after you've dug it up. ;) Happy planting! -Randy
