What a great video! Too bad almost ten years later any traffic through Pullman is almost non-existent, and the line from Pullman to Colfax has been taken out by a burned trestle.
I love that wig wag, at least it's still there.

I COULDN'T EVEN BLEEVE MY EYES THAT I SAW A WIG WAG SIGNAL! THAT'S JUST WHAT I WANTED!

Did they also tear down the railroad crossing along with the line?

Another great video in another great town - thanks for posting it.
(About 10 years ago, there was a good sandwich shop there at 2:32 north of the crossing - good food)

The motivation is that customers on the WIR would have access to the BNSF and UP, where currently they only have access to BNSF.
The party responsible for replacing it would the State of Washington, since they had bought it prior to it burning down. From the states prospective, it would actually be more beneficial to rebuild the Thornton to Oakesdale section than rebuild the trestle, so it will be interesting to see what eventually happens.

I read about the burned trestle.
I wonder what corporations would replace it?
What would motivate the replacement with a new bridge or trestle structure?

Yes. That's a classic Palouse railroad location that, sadly, is now inactive. Glad I got the shot when I did.
