When Derroll Adams left for Europe in the early '60's he left a family in L.A. His son grew up to be an awesome guitarist. We were good pals in the '80's in Seattle but he relocated to Arizona. He returned for a visit in 1992 and I captured a few minutes of footage of him playing my Gibson 12 string. He said it was the first time he had played a 12 string in a long time and thought he was stumbling around on the fretboard. Even though I think it's great stuff I'm sure he will be embarrassed by it but it's all I've got. I have since been out of touch but hope to see him in the near future. There is a clear shot of his face toward the end of the clip and if you saw the still shots of the younger Derroll in the other video's you will notice a resemblance. The wife and I think about him a lot.
I hope he was able to connect with his dad before Derroll's death.
UPDATE: Two months after posting this video Derroll's son left me a message in my YouTube inbox. He looks at Derroll's page occasionally to see whats new. He started watching the video of himself and recognized the song but did not know it was him with the black hat on. He didn't remember being video taped that long ago and only realized it was him after he saw half of the video.
We've been emailing each other. Thanks to the magic of YouTube two old friends are back in touch! Sadly he never connected with his dad before Derroll's death.
Great!! Thanks a lot!

Really cool, Derroll Adams is great. Definitely a resemblance, he looks a lot like Derroll especially with the beard. Great post.
