For the context of this video, please see 'Lahore Peace Rally 1'.
As the rally reached Charing Cross, the roundabout in front of the Punjab Provincial Assembly building, the participants sat down on Mall Road which had been blocked off for the purpose of the rally by the local administration. Media presence was heavy at the rally due to its chronological closeness to the act of terrorism in Karachi.
It really was a huge achievement at the end of the day that, in this atmosphere of uncertainty and insecurity, so many people had come out in Lahore and other cities of Pakistan to vent their anger against terrorism.
The rally participants repeated their anti-terrorism and anti-inflation slogans. Among the leaders who gave the speeches were Mr I.A Rahman and Ms Asma Jahangir of the HRCP. Comrade Taimur Rahman re-asserted his aim to support the anti-terrorism movement in Pakistan through both the CMKP and its cultural offshoot Laal. He ended his statement by re-performing Sadaa to the adulation of the rally participants and leaders.
