There is no ABC6 in Indianapolis. Putting ABC before the channel number is exclusive to ABC O/O's. This station is owned by McGraw Hill and it newscasts are called simply 6NEWS...not ABC6.

"ABC" is not exclusive to O&O's it is exclusive to and any ABC station. This is The Indianapolis ABC Affiliate, channel 6. Therefore calling it ABC6 is perfectly fine. Owner doesn't matter it's the network. As a matter of fact in October WRTV thought about rebranding to "ABC6 News HD" but chose to hold off on that idea.

Fair enough. Please identify ONE TV station in the United States that calls itself ABC and then the channel number that is not a network O/O.
