While we can find many answers in genesis - we do not find them all. Fortunately we can seek the whole counsel of God and determine that there were many events that transpired prior to the creation of the earth. The bible makes no claim to the age of the earth or universe. Dating the creation from the Bible is an extrapolation by fallible men albeit with good intentions. Yet it is not God's word that the universe is any specific age. God's word is very clear "In the beginning God created the universe" and God did not chose to reveal the amount of time that transpired during "the beginning".

Job 38

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
On what were its bases sunk,
or who laid its cornerstone,
when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

So we know for a fact that angels existed prior to earth. So a period of unaccounted time went by. So scripture alone dismisses dating the universe based on genealogies.

  • @tonycstech from when THEY can remember.

  • @tonycstech Tree rings go back 10,000 years. The oldest town is 12,500 years old, Ice cores go back 100,000 years. Where were you when they handed out the science books.

  • Jewsknow. They have a calender still counting days from as far as they can remember.

    Around 6000 years and counting.

All those billion of years are billion of lies.

  • YES! I am a Christian, and I am not a YEC, nor an OEC... I simply admit we can't really know...

  • I like your video, very biblically based. I try to discern the immense wisdom from people like John MacArthur, he is in disagreement. But I am confounded when I see ancient structures on the planet. I really dont know and I dont think it matters, but I tend to agree, there is certainly evidence out there that begs one to question the ability of the earth to be younger than 6000 years. Confusion is not of God.

  • @MrSmirker "they're all as valid as each other"

I must protest most strongly - the word is INVALID.

Bet ya thought I was a fundie :)

  • God ordained that there are things we were not meant to know in this life. No matter what the "scientists" think. I'd rather wait 'til, like Christ says "you will be like the angels of heaven". I believe it's worth striving for. This world is not where it's at. Obvious to some, scoffed at by others. Either Christ is who he says he is (God) or not. There is no middle ground. Choose wisely. As we look back to the beginning, the first problem was sin (disobedience) this is the problem. always has be

  • Was it 6 days per solar system?

  • Maybe God created the universe the week before he created the Earth. No, it would've taken quite a bit longer. Maybe he spent a month or two on that one. Then had a whole week off.

  • The guy of this video is great , but something is wrong with him this time.

1)" The angels existed before the begining. (Titus 1.2)". I understand that before the beginning only existed God.

    2) "We dont know how long the beginning took place". I understand the beginning is the period of time that God created the universe, and that was in six Earth days.

    3) "we dont know how long was the "day"". the period between evening and morning. Much knowledge mislead the wise?
