  • wow blooming squash! great sight to see...hopefully mine will be soon..All your peppers will be hot if they cross pollinate......and can i ask you a question?...why did you put your cabbage in tomato cages?..ive never seen that before.....everything looks great btw....youve put a ton of work in your garden and you have a super variety.!

  • @centervilletn From what I've read the cross pollination only matters if you plan to save the seed, which I still have plenty of . I hope I didn't misunderstand it, but I'll do more research & consider transplanting I guess. The cabbages are in tomato cages because I was having cats get into the beds. I removed the cages a few days ago. If you look closely I have sticks poking up all in the beds that are actually wooden skewers & work much better to keep cats out of the beds. Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • I love your channel as soon as I saw the cat. Fatboy is awesome. I like the garden. Looks like you have plenty of room. Great idea on the skewers to keep the animals out.

  • @AmyLuvnTX ive had spicy bell peppers in the past....i like them but the rest of the family isnt crazy about them same thing for squash..they cross too..but its not so terrible a thing.......i was curious about the cages...i didnt think about the cat./s...my neighbor has 3 cats and ive been hosing them every chance i get trying to scare them off...not too successfully...cats=bad for garden:( keep updating !

  • Your soil looks dark and rich.

I also buy pepper plants but try to grow most everything else from seed. Peppers just take such a long growing season, so it's nice to give them a head start indoors.

You're already getting peas! And you're doing great teaching your child to eat from the garden. :-)

  • Sweet kitty. ☺ I'm moving all my tomatoes and maybe my pepper plants out of my raised beds and putting them into 5-gallon buckets. The ones in the buckets are doing so much better even though they're all in the same compost medium.

  • your garden is looking good and love your cat
