I always love your videos, you have some great stuff. However, this video seems pretty advanced and makes huge jumps upwards from most of your videos. You re-harmonized very well, and it sounds great, but when you mention your 1 chord and say that its a G, it looks like some G9 or G11 chord and the same with the rest of the chords you use, they are not "basic 12 bar blues chords". I'm not saying this isn't cool stuff to learn, it really is, its just not as simple as you might think. Thank you

I take your point. This is not beginner's stuff, but nor is it advanced. I'm planning to make some beginner videos soon for my subscribers with less knowledge on jazz theory. I hope that this video makes sense to at least some though!

You have a really nice musical sense. Very good. These are the kinds of things I love to teach to my students, and people like you give me great ideas for that :) so mucho thanko :)

One little criticism I have with your video is that the audio is really low ... so ... if listening on a laptop, without separate speakers, it's really hard to hear

but the actual content of the video is very good indeed ...

Hi I always wanted to learn blues piano ever since I saw my brother in law playing. I've studied music technology and learnt some theory at college but it's nothing like this. I could never afford a teacher so it wouldn't be possible for me to have learnt what I have without these videos and I've learnt to play things I never thought possible for me, I especially love improvising in D minor lol Thanks so much :)

@MusicGuru12 ... I, for one, am at a level where this video (& more of this level) is perfectly placed (i.e. - difficulty) to challenge me and to lift up my knowledge a bit. These passing tones and the accompanying explanation were a big help....

I put in my vote for more technique at this level.....

@MusicGuru12 begginer jazz and blues would be amazing! I just started and all I could learn so far was the funk groove in C! I only started literally 5 days ago, and really want to learn blues instead of the regular beginner classical songs.. You're a great teacher btw! thanks a lot!

Speaking of passing chords, care to make a video on When moving up in a scale in the bass, while on the same chord, you can alternate between the chord, a diminished chord, and the original chord again? I think that would be a good follow up.
