A new approach in the solution of the GLOBAL WARMING EFFECT

The concept is an elevated highway for bikes enclosed in large tubes that allow transit. The tubes protect bicyclists in all weather conditions, yet allow cross ventilation. By separating bicycles from cars, conflicts of circulation between the two are avoided.

We propose "a high speed, all season, pollution free, ultra-quite transit system that allows people to lead a healthier life. Using an infrastructure of elevated bike tracks, BICIMETRO_BICITAXI will complement the traditional transportation systems, with a network across the City."

The bikeway pipes will be stacked vertically, each pipe dedicated to a different direction of travel. The separation provides safety and at the same time creates dynamic air fluxes that act as natural tail-winds for the bikers. This reduction in the air resistance will increase the speed of the riders.

A general survey ranked the reasons why people do not use their bikes to travel to work as follows
Danger the threat of collision with cars.
Time - It takes longer to cycle than to drive.
Exposure temperature can be controlled inside a car, but not in a bycicle. Bicycling exposes users to rain, wind and car pollution
Effort the physical effort causes sweat, compared to zero energy use while driving.
Lack of facilities - for parking, showering and changing.

The BICIMETRO_BICITAXI will provide solutions to these inconveniences
Danger The treat of collision with cars is non-existent because the bycicles are in their own conveyance. Colliding with other bikes is put out of the equation because the bikeways tubes that are separated by direction of travel.
Time manually driven bikes are allowed for those who prefer to do exercise. Electrical bikes and the BICITAXI will be available for those who want to expend less energy and go faster.
Exposure The BICIMETRO_BICITAXI is an all weather transportation system.
Effort No physical effort is required for using the electrical bikes and BICITAXI
Lack of facilities BICIMETRO will offer showers and changing facilities at its installations
