@CarolineWesterlund / In the New Testament God/Jesus tells us we must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3). And the way He tells us to do that is to be baptized to symbolize becoming a brand new creature in Christ when we emerge from the water. If we are sincere in accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are immediately indwelled by the the very Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. You are then saved forever.

This is no joke. About 22 years or so ago, a girl had asked my Dad to baptize her. The girl told some of us kids that when she gets baptized she is going to take off swimming. We thought she was kidding. Sure enough after church we all go to the creek for the baptism of this girl. Dad is all serious (which baptism should be taken serious) and baptizes this girl and sure enough, she gets out of Dad's reach and took off swimming. Dad thought he'd dropped her but no, she was SWIMMING!

I asked my pastor if i could do it first. He and my family knew i was going to do it. So if he didnt have a big deal about it i thought it was fine. A way to make everyones day a little more better
