He has always been pro-immigrant and San Francisco is a safe haven for countless illegal aliens. I won't contribute my personal opinion on immigration as I don't want to start a flame war on the subject.

Mayor Gavin Newsom has said he would not allow his Police departments in any way enforce immigration laws or turn over to ICE illegal immigrants that are juveniles convicted of crimes. Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, were returning from a picnic when they were gunned down on June 16, 2008 by Salvadoran national Edwin Ramos, 22. Ramos was arrested on felonies twice when he was 17 years old and never turned over to immigration because of his age.

Gavin Newsom is a great mayor. He has accelerated progress in helping the environment and civil liberties.
I know who I'm voting for in 2010.
