The drums are rather low in the mix, and they said there weren't gonna be any keys.

Yet, what do I hear during the second Chorus of "SOTW"?

Keys, very faint, but they are there.

@GangstaLink Also the current trend of overcompressing everything crushes the dynamics. So the drums won't really be able to snap and stand out because the levels have all been crushed to consistently loud. There is no room in a mix where everything is loud.

It's not that the drums are too low. It's that everything is loud.
