This song completely epitomizes the essence and spirit of my favourite kind of Black Sabbath. There are many sides and shades to Black Sabbath that I love, this is one of the songs that really capture the kind of Black Sabbath that I love best.

Sooner or later, Tony Iommi would write and record the ultimate Black Sabbath song. a masterpiece that would combine all of the elements of the genre he created. Ironically, he achieved this task in "Eternal Idol," mostly unknown except to hardcore fans. For casual fans like myself, BS was an interesting, but not compelling, band. The eponymous track from this album changed all that: "Here are beauties which pierce like swords or burn like cold iron," if I may borrow a quote from CS Lewis.

This era is very emotional.

Tonny foi o melhor vocal pro Black Sabbath, muito tecnico nem fazia força pra soltar os agudos, Tonny depois Dio.....!!!!!

I always considered this album, behind Heaven and Hell, to be the best post-Ozzy Sabbath album ever. This song, in particular, has always kind of creeped me out, but in a good way! Glory Ride has to be my second favourite song on the album, due, in no small part, to it's excellent chorus :)

I miss this cd. For some reason it didn't sound this good to me when I last owned it, at that point it was still considered a recent release. The entire Tony Martin era is like this. The Martin era cds are currently out of print & way overpriced, well most of em are. I'm having to get by with "the best of B.S.". The cd with the purple cover from the "10 best" series, it just makes me wish I had more. I simply didn't realize how good this stuff was when It was new, & easier to get.
