http://www.theswanswinbrook.co.uk/blog - This is PART 1 of 2. Deborah Devonshire, the youngest Mitford sister, gives a personal insight in to her extraordinary childhood and life in and around Swinbrook. This is Part 1 of the interview.
This is an enchanting interview between Archie Orr-Ewing, landlord of the Swan Inn Swinbrook and the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, about her time growing up in Asthall and Swinbrook, her love of the area, the memories and strong connections she still has with it.
her last name isn't devonshire, right? shouldn't it be cavendish?

@dyoniz1 Do you know anything about her? He was and remains a very apolitical person. He sister, Unity was a Nazi sympathizer but this woman was ignorant of politics. Her another sister, Nancy, is one of the greatest novelist and biographer Britain ever produced.

And what a charming, articulate and accomplished author the interviewee is.
(I use to lick the prews myself) By coincidence I am reading "Debo's" memoirs now and definitely recommend it to any Mitford fans... such an incredible family!
