-- Epic Games Chief Executive Officer, Founder and Technical Director Tim Sweeney today presented the company's award-winning Unreal Engine 3 (UE3) technology running fully inside an Adobe® Flash®-based environment during a keynote at Adobe MAX 2011, Adobe's annual conference for developers, designers and business leaders. The live technical demonstration of "Unreal Tournament 3," Epic's blockbuster first-person shooter for Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 and PC, was visually enhanced for an unprecedented real-time experience inside Adobe Flash Player 11.

  • 6 People are angry because they can't find anything like this in HTML5

  • @superjchamma FLASH 11 has full OpenVG and OpenVG ES support for vectoring FLASH games w/ full hardware support (full GPU acceleration) it's capable of using either DirectX or OpenGL API's just like the full desktop games, but in your browser. People are playing games at 1080p 60fps in their browsers right now & it includes true P2P (something no desk top game supports) & any game controllers your devices can utilize. From steering wheels on Max Racer (demo) to xbox or ps3 controllers! :DDD

You're not getting the point, they still have to download and run all those games onto their system - whats more most of those ,exe files have to have permissions and access to things like graphics cards, tcp, drivers etc, ettc in order work, so they HAVE to be installed - they can't run entirely sandboxed and still access most of these things - you would be running a RIDICULOUS mine field of viruses and malware just running ,EXE files.

This is running straight off the web,.

  • @audas devs can make .exe game that use no registry (thus no need to install), without using flash.

  • @izvarzone

It means you can play thousands of games on demand without ever installing anything.

  • Google's native client can kick flash 11 in the testicular spheres any day of the week. However flash can reverse HTML5's nipple direction (NaCl 1st, Flash 2nd and HTML5 3rd).

  • Silly rabbit iOS devices are for brainwashed monkeys xD!

  • I want UT Live:)

  • wow that map in the video infinitely better than the actual map in UT3 game, thumbs up if you agree.

  • @izvarzone you need to download then install .exe games in order to work.

Browser-based flashgame doesnt. You just go to some URL and instantly play the game (and you can still switch it full-screen too! just like executable games).

And that means it's not platform-dependant. There's no mac, linux, or windows only. There's only "browser".
