Shade of Hope 2010

On July 18, 2010, Blinds.com and The Furniture Bank of Houston along with local artists and sponsors joined forces to present Shade of Hope. A Houston community arts affair, the purpose of Shade of Hope is to raise money, awareness, and support for The Furniture Bank, an organization that turns houses into homes for less-fortunate families. At the inagural Shade of Hope event, each volunteer artist was given a roller shade, canvas or vinyl, on which to create a work of art using whatever type of paint they choose.

The finished painted shades will be available for purchase in an online gallery and on display and sold at The Furniture, Arts, and Decor Expo August 28-29 2010 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
