I'm really pleased to share this video. Unlike the casual Iphone films I've been posting here, this was actually directed and edited by the eminently talented Greg Sirota, and recorded by Tim Mooney at Closer Recording.
I'm providing this as a foretaste of the long-deferred "Glockenspiel / Ukulele" record, which is closer to being released than ever before. It's all done except for the artwork, and I believe the cavalry is on the way to help with that.
"Love You" is essentially the center of the two-disc "Glockenspiel / Ukulele" record. It's the last song on the Glockenspiel disc (which contains the Prologue and Acts I and II), and is followed by the musical intermission that leads into the second disc, Ukulele (which contains Acts III and IV and the Epilogue).
The version on the record has a few more keyboards and, of course, some glockenspiel, but is the same in principle, This, on the other hand, is a completely live recording.
The song is old now, and we shot the video in November of 2010. It's finally ready to show you all at the tail end of the season where they're playing Christmas songs a bit too early. The weather has turned, and the wind did indeed blow drear today. And that's what's so nice about being in a project named after Percy Shelley: I have given myself complete permission to use words like "drear".
Love you,
Michael

LOVE YOU
The weather's turned and the wind blows drear
Autumn is here
They're even playing Christmas songs too early
And I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do
In this life or in this world
So I guess that makes it easy
Love you
We searched and searched, gave up on searching
Waited, and despaired of waiting
Like a million lonely souls before us
The song is short or the song is long
But we only get to sing along
When it comes round, when it comes round
Love you
[music]
When I was young, I dreamt of my masterpiece
You know, the next War and Peace
Some shocking work of genius I'd deliver
And God said, "Child, your gifts are not like these
More like a leaf on a breeze
That occasionally lifts up a-shiver"
Love you
Now I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do
In this life or in this world
So I guess that makes it easy
Stretch my arm across your side
Slide my knees behind your knees
Breathe in, breathe out
Love you

I love the ambient nature of this song Michael. It relaxes my ears to really listen to woven words throughout the piece. Your voice provides guidance to the listener and sends them on a path of pure melodic enthrallment. Fabulous job! Keep composing new songs.
